It's been a great season for the Jayhawks this year. There gave been several developments I would like to discuss:

1. Marcus Morris: What can I say? Did you think he would be the most improved player after last year? I sure didn't. He has been simply AMAZING this year. He has been the "MVP" of the Big XII season thus far. He is shooting for a high percentage from the field and is cleaning the glass with the best of them.

2. Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins: I expected greatness... and have gotten... well... solid play. The Jayhawks have been able to win games with them playing sub-par (last night for example)... there is still time for them to have some big games. Need to see Cole get more agressive in the post.

So... the White Sox are able to sweep the Royals at home. Not that big of a story. Lets hope that thsi gives the guys some confidence and we continue this run against the Twins this weekend and at the Tigers next week. For the Sox to win this division... they are going to need to keep winning these games against the Tigers and Indians. I really think the Tribe is going to go on a run... they are just too good to give us the division. Paul Konerko has been my biggest issue. He needs to get going... and now!

White Sox... White Sox... Go Go White Sox!

So Jayhawk fans... we got there. Are you satisfied? Are you happy that we made it for the first time since Kirk Hinrich and crew? First time sine Roy? I am very excited that we are going to be a part of the greatest FF in history. The talent we are going to see on the floor in San Antonio is going to be one for the ages. Our matchup with North Carolina and the boys in baby blue will be amazing. How do you see the game taking shape? Can our bigs keep Tyler under control? Can we slow down Ty and the rest of the athletes on Carolina? I will be honest, I am nervous! I think however, this is our best matchup in the FF. I am glad that we don't have to play both UCLA and Memphis... or UCLA and UNC. I think we are going to play UNC close. I think we are going to play the best we have played all year. The pressure is off this team. They got Coach Self to his first FF. UNC is the favorite and we are not the team to beat in this tournament. I think we are actually considered the weakest team left... and I like it. For once, we are not the favorite... like we were against Syracuse and Carmelo Anthony. I think the Jayhawks will respond and play amazing. Looking at the matchup.. .I think our advantage is going to be Mario Chalmers. He is the guy that I feel comfortable with in big games. I think Russ and Sherron have their hands full with containing Ty and I think Mario will get a lot of open shots against the questionsable 'd' of UNC. Hopefully our shots will fall (didn't in the Davidson game) and we win by a nose.

So... Selection Sunday is over. The seeds are set. The bubble teams are... well... bubble teams. Let's get down to business. 30 teams think they will make the Final 4 and maybe 8 teams actually think they will win it all. For Kansas fans, winning on April 7th is all that matters. While the same can be said for fans of UNC, UCLA, Memphis, Tennessee etc.... So, why the urgency in Lawrence this March?

1988... it's been 20 long years of ending the season with a loss. Jacque, Kirk, Nick, Wayne, Keith, Paul, Raef, Aaron, Rex, Haase, Woodbury and the rest tried.. but failed to bring home the hardware.

Roy Williams... Roy winning at UNC still brings a bad taste to my mouth.

Teams that start with 'B'. Losing to Bucknell and Bradley in the first round in back-to-back years was not how it was supposed to happen.

So jayhawk fans... another dud by the hawks over the weekend. I was so happy that the game was on local TV... but wish I would not have seen it! What happened to the killer mentality? Why is this team having trouble with these teams? Why can we not guard these teams like we were in the beginning of the season? I think they look tired and not as motivated. This year’s team has a great chance this year! They need to get their heads in the game and play to their ability… not down to the competition. I am sick of Brandon and the rest of the crew being so darn passive on offense. Brandon is a really good player that needs to learn how to take over when the team needs a lift! We should have won on Saturday. Things need to change soon… or they are going to lose everything they have worked so hard for. Right now… I expect they are a #2 seed. To earn a #1 they need to win out… including the BIG XII tournament. Can they do it… yes. Will they?

Another loss... more questions!

So... another Jayhawk flop.

I am sure I am not the only one... about 5 minutes into the game or so... I just know the game is going to be close to the end and we will lose. Why do I feel this way? I guess I have seen enough of their games over the years to see it coming? (Since my freshman year... I figure I have seen about 450 games)

So... why did we lose? I think it honestly comes down to guys being scared of foul trouble. The we so agressive in the paint in the first half.. but lost their edge early in the second half. Texas KILLED us o the boards in the second half.

What do you all think? Why the lack of intensity?

Tonight could make or break the Jayhawks season! The horns are a VERY talented team and could cause a ton of problems for the hawks tonight. Yes, they no longer have Kevin Durant, but this team has a ton of young talented guards and a decent frontcourt as well. We are going to need to play at our best to win at Texas! Because we swept them last year... they will be ready for this one! Mario, Russ and Sherron are going to have their hands full with DJ. I my eyes, he is the most complete guard in the BIG XII... maybe even the country.

The Jayhawks played well from what I hear against Baylor... but no 3's? How does a team score 100 points without making a single 3 point basket? I was VERY happy to see that both Russ and Sherron had great games! And we shot over 75% from the FT line again! Looks like Bill might be spending more time in practice shooting FT's!

HUGE game tonight in Austin!

The big dance is only a month away. What team(s) do you not want to see on your side of the bracket? What teams scare you... if any? What do you guys think about Duke's win at North Carolina? Do you think Memphis is the real deal? What about a team like Butler? Can they make another run this year? Is the BIG 10 as bad as they look? What about the PAC 10? Are they as physical as they looked last night in the UCLA game? What sleeper teams are going to peak? UCONN? Kentucky?

Selection Sunday is one of my favorite days of the year. I can't wait to see all the possible matchups! Some I would love to see are:

Kansas State and Indiana: Eric Gordon against Michael Beasley would be amazing! I think they would both score 40+ in that game!

Another Jayhawk victory!!! I thought the team played well last night. Not great... but played a good game. I was upset that they were not able to cause more turnovers and they had too many of their own. I was also upset that Slim got himself in foul trouble again. We are a different team with him on the bench. He needs to learn to play smarter and not pickup those dumb fouls. I really liked to see Brandon be more agressive and drive to the hoop a couple times. He needs to play like the go-to-guy and be a little more selfish! He is so talented around the basket and needs to take advantage of his strengths! I was also happy to see Sherron playing a little better... he had that burst of speed we all saw last year! I think this team is starting to believe and starting to really understand what it takes to win... no matter what style of play the other teams forces on them. Keep being agressive and playing smart! Keep hitting your FT and trusting your teammates. This team is fun to watch!!

Well.... a lot has happened in the last week. Kansas loses a game at KSU for the first time in like 100 years.... Cats take over the lead in BIG XII.... then poop their pants at Missouri. So... were do we stand now? Tied for first with another BIG XII Championship in our grasp as long as we take care of business! It starts tonight with a home date against the same short-handed Mizzou team that just had a HUGE win against KSU.

Our Huge advantage tonight is going to be our guards... they are missing their point guard!!! We should be able to cause Mizzou to turn the ball over all night! Should be a nice confidence booster for KU tonight! Brandon Rush, Mario Chalmers, and Sherron Collins should dominate and KU should win easily! I also want to see Cole Aldrich get some major minutes! We are going to need home come March!
